Obama, McCain are 'flip-floppers', say voters

A majority of US voters think the presumptive presidential nominees, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain, are 'flip-floppers', a phenomenon that apparently led to the defeat of incumbent George W Bush's rival John Kerry in the 2004 polls, a new opinion poll says.
Most of the voters polled believed both men are flip-floppers who will change their opinions for political reasons. Voters are also skeptical that either man will be able to end the partisan gridlock in Washington on key issues.

Do you Really Own A King James Version Bible?
How the King James Version is being corrupted

Ever since the Garden of Eden Satan has been attempting to corrupt the Word of God. The Last thing he wants is for mankind to have an unadulterated copy of God’s Word. There is no doubt that the Bible is the most hated and despised Book in all of history.
In the last century, there were numerous attacks against the Word of God with the release of many corrupt Bibles. Supposedly, we needed an updated, modernized, and easier-to-understand Bible for the modern English speaking person. Despite the deluge of modern versions, the Authorized Version has continued to be printed. However, the attacks against the Bible have taken another turn.
Actually, this new attack appears to be old, not new. Some publishers have made “corrections” to the very text of the King James Version. Some of these “corrections” have been found in King James Version Bibles that were printed over fifty years ago! Obviously, this has been going on for quite some time with very few people paying any attention whatsoever. Sadly, too many still have no idea that this is even being done.
At the end of this essay, I have listed the “corrections” that I have discovered. In most cases, few people will care about them, because they are changes in the spelling of the words. The spelling is changed from the British spelling to the modern American spelling. However, some involve the changing of the word altogether – replacing one word with a totally different word!
The most disturbing change is found in the following verses where the “s” in the word “Spirit” was changed from a capital letter to a lower case letter:
In checking my Bibles, neither my Cambridge nor my Thompson Chain Reference Bible (published by Kirkbride) contained any “corrections”—at least none that I could track down in this investigation. However, I own two Schofields – a 1917 Schofield Reference Bible (published by World/Oxford) that I purchased in 1993, and an Old Schofield Study System Bible (published by Oxford) that was given to me in 2003—and both contained a disturbing error.
In Matthew 4:1 we read, “Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.” In both of my Schofields, the “s” in “Spirit” was not capitalized. The “s” should be capitalized because the word “Spirit”, as in the previously mentioned verses, in Matthew 4:1 is not a common noun, it is a proper noun: the name of a Person. My Cambridge Bible had a capital “s” in the word “Spirit” in Matthew 4:1. Just out of curiosity, I checked my replica of the Authorized Version 1611, it also shows a capital “s” for the word “Spirit” in Matthew 4:1.
But this is no big deal, right? Wrong. One minor change here is in fact a major change. By changing the capital letter to a small letter, it is actually denying the Person and Deity of the Holy Spirit. The small letter makes “spirit” a common noun of NO significant importance. For example, if the “L” were changed in the word “Lord” to a lower case letter, does it still refer to God? No, it does not. What if the “G” in “God” is changed to a lower case letter? Would it then be a reference to the Almighty God Jehovah? No, it would then become a reference to a false god. Changing the “s” in spirit relegates the Holy Spirit to just another kind of spirit.
But what is the significance of one word being changed? Does it really matter? Actually, it matters a lot. Who gave anyone the authority to start making changes in the text of the King James Version of the Bible? I personally believe that this is just another attack made by Satan against the Word of God. Slowly make changes and adjustments in “insignificant” areas so that people will pay little or no attention. As time goes by, start making more sinister changes, so that eventually no pure copy of the Word of God exists in the English language. I believe there is coming a day when a pure copy of the King James Version will no longer be able to be purchased.
My advice is to be careful with any new Bible you may purchase. The “Gift/Award” Bibles and “Pew” Bibles seem to be the absolute worse about having these changes. But, they are not the only ones. Changes have been found in many of the ever-popular “Slimline”, “handy-size” and other reference Bibles.
The following are changes that have been made in some “King James Version” Bibles. Notice: some of these are spelling changes from the English spellings to the American spellings; others are blatant replacements for one word for a totally different one:
1. “rereward” is changed to “rearward” in Numbers 10:25; Joshua 6:9; Joshua 6:13; I Samuel 29:2; Isaiah 52:12; and Isaiah 58:8
2. “his” is changed to “this” in Deuteronomy 17:20
3. “or” is changed to “and” in Joshua 19:2
4. “travail” is changed to “travel” in Numbers 20:14
5. “emerods” is changed to “hemorrhoids” in I Samuel 6:4, 5, 11, and 17
6. “sin” is changed to “sins” in II Chronicles 33:19
7. “flieth” is changed to “fleeth” in Nahum 3:16
8. “ye” is changed to “he” in Jeremiah 34:16
9. “lender” is changed to “leader” in Proverbs 22:17
