RAT RACE 2008

A 'New World Order' for Conservatives?
Posted by Bobby Eberle

The sheeple are just now figuring it out. This is exactly what Bush & Co. have been working towards for the last seven years. Longer if you take the Bush I administration into account. There are two competing philosophies; however, the ultimate goal of both is a New World Order. Even though the GOP sheeple are catching on, many will no doubt cast their votes for McCain in November since he is the "lesser of two evils".

IRAQ: Fever Named After Blackwater
By Ali al-Fadhily and Dahr Jamail/IPS

Iraqi doctors in al-Anbar province warn of a new disease they call "Blackwater" that threatens the lives of thousands. The disease is named after Blackwater Worldwide, the U.S. mercenary company operating in Iraq.

"This disease is a severe form of malarial infection caused by the parasite plasmodium falciparum, which is considered the worst type of malarial infection," Dr. Ali Hakki from Fallujah told IPS. "It is one of the complications of that infection, and not the ordinary picture of the disease. Because of its frequent and severe complications, such as Blackwater fever, and its resistance to treatment, P. falciparum can cause death within 24 hours."

Today, a handful of soldiers with advanced gear can see a few digital maps, through helmet-mounted monocles. Some pilots can get data about their world, on heads-up displays. But one day, troops could see an info-"augmented" reality all around them, with contact lenses that provide "first-person shooter-type video game" environments to those that wear them. At least, that's the idea behind the latest project from DARPA, the Pentagon's blue sky science and technology division.

The earthquake on February 27 did more than shake people up in the middle of the night. Reports have come in that mysterious lights also appeared around the quake’s epicentre near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. One witness described how a grapefruit-sized glowing sphere appeared in her bedroom and then went out like a light. “This thing seemed to be coming across the room straight at me. I was very frightened,” she told the Louth Leader. Another person described flashes like car headlights at her window, and others spoke of lightning flashes after the quake. However, there was no lightning activity at the time of the quake.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS ON DIXIE

Review: The Politically Incorrect Guide To The South By Clint Johnson © Copyright 2006 Clint Johnson Regnery Publishing

The Politically Incorrect Guide To The South isn’t another essay on “The Civil War wasn’t civil, and it wasn’t about slavery either!” While those topics are discussed, and rightfully so, there is much more to learn about Dixie in this book than that.

Some of the topics covered are:
Why the South is more important to America’s founding than the North
The first of the thirteen colonies to legalize slavery was not in the South

The South is the center of American culture and history

Why faith and family come first in the South
Why limited government and low taxes are a Southern tradition
The South started and won the War for Independence

…and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

You will never know any of this information if you depend upon government schools (and even most private and Christian schools) to teach you what you need to know about history. The fact is there is an on-going war against the American principles set forth in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The best way to destroy that system of Liberty is to obliterate the very thing that gave birth to American Liberty—Dixie.

With sidebars and “Books Y’all Aren’t Supposed To Read”, Mr. Johnson guides you to places where you can find more information on the topic at hand.
The Politically Incorrect Guide To The South is enjoyable, at times very humorous, educational and a downright good read, and can be purchased from Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.

BIG GOVERNMENT POWER

The "Isms" That Bedevil Bush
By Patrick J. Buchanan

In smearing as nativists, protectionists and isolationists those who wish to stop the invasion, halt the export of factories and jobs to Asia, and stop the unnecessary wars, Bush is attacking the last true conservatives in his party. Which is understandable. For after the judges and tax cuts, what is there about Bush that is conservative? His foreign policy is Wilsonian. His trade policy is pure FDR. His spending is LBJ all the way. His amnesty for illegals is Teddy Kennedy’s policy.

The Constitution - Compact or Unitary Compulsion?
by Al Benson Jr.

The Constitution was not perfect to begin with. Many anti-federalists like Patrick Henry found notable problems with it and their arguments, even today, are worth noting. But for all of that, and for the Constitution being, at best, a mixed bag, it was still a compact between the states and not a document that forced obedience upon the states as being only vassals of an all-powerful American Union--the kind envisioned by Abraham Lincoln.

MULTI-REVIEW: BOOKS ON NORTH CAROLINA HISTORY

This year, I have been teaching North Carolina history. I have done a lot of research, sifting through articles, booklets and books, as I want my students to learn the real history of the Old North State, not the politically correct mumbo-jumbo that is normally forced fed to young minds.

I plan to do more of these “North Carolina History Book Reviews” in the future, but for now I wish to focus upon four booklets that were beneficial to me in working on North Carolina’s early history.

The first is Native Carolinians: The Indians of North Carolina, by Theda Perdue (no relation). This booklet gives a good deal of valuable information on those who inhabited North Carolina at the time of exploration and colonization. It discusses a brief history of the Cherokee and Lumbee Nations, as well as giving what is known of the ancient inhabitants.

The second booklet is Indian Wars in North Carolina: 1663-1763, by E. Lawrence Lee. As the title indicates, this booklet specifically deals with the various Indian wars fought in colonial North Carolina. It gives known information about the Indians who inhabited North Carolina when the colony was founded, as well as the early Indian wars fought between 1663-1711. Two chapters are devoted to the Tuscarora War, which nearly wiped out the northern portion of Carolina (Carolina would be divided into North and South in 1712 after the start of the Tuscarora War). The remainder of Indian Wars in North Carolina is spent discussing the two largest North Carolina tribes by the 1750s—the Catawba and the Cherokee – including their participation in the French and Indian War and the War for Independence.

Besides Indians, North Carolina also had difficulties with pirates. The third booklet is The Pirates of Colonial North Carolina by historian Hugh F. Rankin. Rankin gives a brief, but lively account of North Carolina’s pirate problem, and discusses some of the more notorious pirates known to have haunted the Outer Banks, sounds and inlets of the North Carolina coastline.

Last, but not least, we have North Carolina in the American Revolution, by Hugh F. Rankin. This is a brief, but excellent account, of North Carolina’s fight for Liberty and Independence. While not going into great detail, North Carolina in the American Revolution gives a good outline of the causes that pushed North Carolina into being the first state to declare independence from the English Empire, as well as the key battles fought in the Old North State.

These booklets are excellent sources for those who wish to learn more about North Carolina. North Carolina home schooling parents will also find these helpful in giving their children a good knowledge of North Carolina’s magnificent heritage and history.

All of these booklets are published by the North Carolina Division of Archives and History, and can be purchased from Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com by clicking on the linked title and/or author's name.

EASTER THOUGHTS 2008

Easter Ain't About The Resurrection Anymore

"In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you."

Matthew 28:1-7

Each year you see fewer and fewer signs that point to the true meaning of Easter. The same media-driven money-making circus that we have allowed to takeover Christmas, has done a good job with this, and Christians have done a good job of buying into the whole scheme.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, Easter was one of the few days out of the year that you knew people were going to be in church. Little girls and ladies bought new dresses for Easter. Even men would try to get something a little more special to wear - because Easter was a special day. Sure, there would be dinners, family-get-together's and egg hunts, but that was all going to be after the Sunday morning services.

Church would have Sunrise services with folks getting up at ungodly hours to attend. Churches would often place a wooden cross in the front yard maybe with a purple cloth draped across - symbolizing that the KING of kings did not stay there. Church auditoriums were bedecked with Easter lilies in all their glorious beauty.

Preachers would deliver messages about the Blessed Hope of the Christian Faith - that Christ did not stay in that tomb, but arose on the first day of the week, was seen of the Eleven and Mary, and how he ascended to Heaven and is seated at the Right Hand of the Throne of the Father.

People would leave - some would have their lives changed, and never be the same again - a little happier, knowing that we Christ is the Great I AM.

Today, things are not so much this way. Egg hunts, family-get-together's and vacations have taken the place of church. Few churches place the crosses and Easter lilies around their property. Even fewer churches conduct sunrise services. It's just another of the myriad holidays in America. Christians freely and willingly gobble up the materialism of candy, bunny rabbits and eggs, both real and plastic.

We have forgotten why there even is an Easter. We have lost the meaning, and few care to restore it to its rightful place. Chocolate bunnies may taste good, but they cannot die for our sins. Egg hunts maybe fun, but not one child's will be changed because they went to one.

We have an Easter because once there was a Man Who was beaten beyond all recognition, was mocked and abused by Roman soldiers, and was nailed to a cross in the most brutal form of execution ever devised by man. He was crucified for His sins, but for mine and for the sins of ALL mankind. That Man died and was placed in a tomb, and rose by His own power and lives forever more. That is what Easter is about. Let's remember it and not forget it.

SOME NORTH CAROLINIANS HAVE A CHOICE

Each election cycle, more and more Americans are left with no real choice as to who they can vote for. In North Carolina's 4th Congressional District, voters will have a choice at the GOP primary in May, and hopefully those voters will have a choice in November.

B.J. Lawson is a young man with an extensive background in medicine, engineering and business. Lawson is also a Christian who believes in the governmental principles set forth in the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. This makes Lawson a real choice - a choice that is not "the lesser of two evils".

Unfortunately, I will not have such a choice when I go to vote. I live in the 13th District, and it will be the same old, same old once again. However, if you live in North Carolina's 4th District, know that you have a choice this year. If you know those who live Orange, Durham and parts of Wake and Chatham Counties, then let them know that they have a choice. Whether you live in 4th District or not, you can still support Mr. Lawson so that at least soem folks will have a real voice in Washington, DC next year.

For more information visit B.J. Lawson's campaign website by clicking here.
