We have Forgotten

Monday, September 17, will be the most forgotten day in American history. Most do not realize it, but Monday is supposed to be a holiday to honor the Constitution for the United States of America. Constitution Day shows up on very few calendars, and even fewer Americans actually know what it is.

On September 17, 1787, 55 delegates from the States met to sign the Constitution in Philadelphia at the final meeting of the Constitutional Convention. The Constitutional Convention had been in session since May 14, when representatives began meeting in secret to replace the Articles of Confederation. While it could be disputed that the delegates should have left well enough alone, hindsight is always 20/20. Besides who would have ever thought at that time that Patrick Henry and the Anti-Federalists could have been right about a Federal, Central Government?!

Sadly, in an effort by this nations leaders over the past 100 years or more, there has been a movement to corrupt our once Grand Republic into a Mafia-run Democracy. The only way that can and will be accomplished is by the continual neglect of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These days politicians only use the Constitution when it helps their agenda. However, those politicians would have never gained the power that they now have had the American people took care to know and understand the Constitution.

Very few Americans have any idea what the Constitution is anymore. Very few can actually tell you anything, including the preamble which school children once memorized, that is contained in the Constitution's text. How can we expect to remain free if we are ignorant of the very thing that was established to protect our freedom and liberty? As Thomas Jefferson once said, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be."

Monday should be a day that is set aside for all Americans to read, learn, discuss and observe the Constitution. We should read about the men who helped write this great document, and the men who signed it. We should learn why it is so vitally important that the Constitution be strictly enforced, and that politicians be forced to abide by it under threat of impeachment and imprisonment.

In all probability, Constitution Day 2007 will pass by, largely unnoticed and forgotten by the vast majority of Americans, because we expect to be ignorant and free. Soon, we will still be ignorant, but not free. We will just be ignorant slaves.

Happy Birthday, Constitution, and may your signers never be forgotten, nor why they signed.

Centuries Later Early Explorers Are Proven Correct

Friday the European Space Agency reported on their website that the very thing many explorers sought for has been found. Satellites focusing on the Arctic ice sheets have discovered what explorers during the so-called Modern Age of Discovery desperately looked for.

According to the European Space Agency (ESA), Arctic ice sheet levels have dropped to their lowest point in thirty years, since the ice sheets started being monitored. This drop in ice sheet levels has revealed that the Northwest Passageway—a shortcut to Asia—does exist—it’s just been covered by ice for all of these years.

While this bit of news has scientists and global warming advocates concerned, it would have been music to the ears of many explorers in the years between 1400-1800. A shortcut to Asia was one of the things Christopher Columbus was looking for when he stumbled upon the Caribbean islands in that fateful year of 1492. Only Columbus thought he would find a short cut farther south than those who would come after him.

The search for a Northwest Passage began in earnest in the 1500s. In 1576 Martin Frobisher lead the hunt for the Northwest Passage with the backing and support of Sir Humphrey Gilbert, half-brother of Sir Walter Raleigh. Frobisher was followed in 1585 by English explorer John Davis. In 1609 Henry Hudson sailed up the Hudson River in search of the elusive passage, but like the men before him, he was unable to find what he was certain existed.

Many other expeditions followed in the 1700s, but by 1850 many began to conclude that such a passage was only a myth. Many of these early explorers would be pleased to find out that they were right all along. It just has taken a few centuries and receding ice sheets to prove it.

Images on the European Space Agency’s website shows that the most direct route of the Northwest Passageway is now fully navigable. Whether anyone will be able to begin using the Northwest Passageway is still unknown, as no one expected there to be one, or for it to be open this soon.

It would be quite interesting to see the Northwest Passageway being used, and see the dream of so many finally being realized.

The invasion is being orchestrated by the advocates of the One World order, who in this country are implementing the NAU, which calls for the Economic Integration of the US, Canada and Mexico. This economic integration calls for the free flow of goods and labor between the three countries.
