Hindu Prayer Aftermath

Earlier this week, I posted regarding the US Senate "making history" by inviting a Hindu chaplain to lead them in prayer. It passed off rather quietly, despite that it turned out to be quite a show. Very few Christians made any mention of it, and only a couple of Christian news sites bothered to comment on the subject at all.

Christians seem to be oblivious as our freedom is slowly being eroded away. We were not bothered when prayer and the Bible were thrown out of public schools, and we haven't been bothered with anything since. We have grown accustomed to the fact that while it is a criminal act to pray, read the Bible or pass out tracts at a public school or any other government facility, it is perfectly fine for ANY religious group that is not Christian to have classes, give literature and promote their views.

The following are links regarding the special prayer conducted at the US Senate this past Thursday.

Pardon possible?

Grassfire.org & CNN's Lou Dobbs are both reporting that the US Senate is scheduled to begin a hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, July 17, 2007. The purpose of the hearing is to examine the prosecution of Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. The hearing could be a first step in securing a pardon for these two men.

Under normal circumstances such a hearing should be totally unnecessary. But, in case you haven't noticed, we are no longer living under normal circumstances in this country. Honest men are thrown in prison for defending themselves, their families and their country. Liars, thieves and crooks that are friends of the powers-that-be are allowed to walk free and commit crimes against the citizenry once more.

We need to call the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, as well as our own senators, and urge them to do the right thing, get US Attorney Johnny Sutton to answer some serious questions.

Here is the list of the Senate Judiciary Committee members and their phone numbers:

REVIEW: Telling The Story

In my line of work, I hear a lot of "Gospel" music. So much, that you tired of hearing a lot of the same worn-out junk that passes for Gospel music these days. There are some Southern Gospel groups who routinely put out good quality material.

The McKameys have always been one of the few groups that you can always bank on putting out a good CD. While some may not like their "Mountainy" sounds, you cannot deny the fact that the songs that are on their CDs always solid.

Telling The Story is the latest album out by the McKameys, and I believe it is the best one yet, and they have had some great albums in the past. Others may have contained good, solid songs; however, this one has meat.

Telling The Story starts off with a timeless classic, "My Jesus I Love Thee". The second cut is a really great song that is sung by Elijah Fortner, the son of McKameys' members Roger & Connie Fortner, and the lad does an outstanding job. The song is titled "It Takes Time", and talks about how the Christian life is not an overnight things - it is something that takes time. It takes time to read the Bible, to pray, to learn, to follow Christ.

Other songs on this CD that I like are: Secrets", "Sing A Song About The Lamb", "You're Still God", and "Wait For The Morning Light".

When it is important that we have and listen to good music, and it is increasingly more difficult to find good music, the McKameys have once again shown that it is not impossible to get that music to us.

Telling The Story can be purchased from the McKameys' website, or wherever Southern Gospel Music is sold.

MUSTANG REPORT # 11

U. S Army Special Forces: First to take the war into Cambodia

By LTC Daniel Marvin, U.S. Army (Retired)
Author of Victory Edition - EXPENDABLE ELITE - One Soldier's Journey Into Covert Warfare

Everything to do with my first six months as commander of Special Forces Team A-424, situated on the Cambodian Border in the district of An Phu had been an unconventional experience. It was late December in 1965 when I accepted the Top Secret mission that would allow me and my team of Green Berets to take the war into sovereign Cambodian territory for the first time in that war, I naively thought all the others would follow as we proved successful. LTC William Tuttle, the commander of all Special Forces units in the IV Tactical Corps, looked me in the eye and told me that we would be “on our own” no matter what we faced once inside Cambodia. There would be no support from our higher headquarters.

“Not even medical evacuation?” I asked. Almost nose to nose with me, he replied, “If you accept, you are on your own." There would be no support inside Cambodia. "Once you walk out that door, it will be as if we never met. Understand?”

I would learn that Major Phoi Van Le, whom Colonel Tuttle described as being “tougher than nails,” would be my counterpart in An Phu as commander of the five CIDG companies and the LLDB team. He was also the military advisor to the Hoa Hao central council and it was Major Le, I was told by Colonel Tuttle, that met with General Quang Van Dang (IV Tactical Zone CG) and somehow used the reputation of the Hoa Haos as fierce and courageous fighters to convince General Dang that they should go together to meet with Premier Ky’s Minister of Defense and obtain approval for the defenders of An Phu to take the war into the safe-havens that had been provided the enemy by our White House. This was in December 1965 and some seven months after we had broken diplomatic relations with Prince Sihanouk. I was to learn that President Johnson, against the desires of Premier Ky, had approved the enemy’s use of Cambodian Territory for safe havens. Insane? Yes, and stupid too. It was aiding and abetting the enemy to permit them safe areas where they could attack our forces from at will with no fear of our following in hot pursuit once they got back across the border into Cambodia.

We were on a different playing field in An Phu. With our limited resources of men and weapons we nonetheless took the war to Cambodia. We were hamstrung to a certain extent by a total lack of air, artillery or medical evacuation support. We decided to limit our cross- border on the ground engagement with the enemy to a distance of three kilometers inside Cambodia so as to stay within support range of our own mortars.

In June 1966, the CIA dispatched agent Walter Mackem to my camp to ask if I would accept a mission to assassinate Cambodian Crown Prince Norodom Sihanouk. It seems we were the closest camp to that area of Cambodia where the crown prince reigned and our Hoa Hao irregular fighters had a reputation for getting the job done. Knowing he was no friend of ours and that he had allowed his territory to be used by our enemy, I had no qualms about accepting the mission, but with a quid-pro-quo. Though we began immediately to develop an ambush force of volunteers, gather the equipment and weapons needed for a “sterile” mission and collaborate on a plan for infiltration, ambush and escape back to camp, I had told Mackem that we would not step foot inside Cambodia on that mission until I had proof that President Johnson had told the American people that our country had permitted the enemy safe havens and had immediately told the American people that our forces and allied forces had been given the green light to pursue the enemy anywhere he fled, even inside Cambodia.

When we were within days of sending our volunteers into Cambodia to kill the prince I learned that there would be no White House move to deny the enemy their safe havens. I immediately cancelled the mission and ordered the agent out of my camp, only to be warned by him. “You can’t fight the system, Captain” he hollered back to me as he was escorted to the waiting chopper, “because you know you can’t win.”

Details of this unusual activity and how we survived the act of retribution concocted by the CIA that would have had me, my men and our Hoa Hao fighters attacked by a 1,000 man heavily armed ARVN regiment and how we successfully won victory in Federal Court against the Special Forces Association when they tried in vain to bankrupt me and my publisher remove my book from the market are clearly spelled out in the Victory Edition of Expendable Elite – One Soldier’s Journey into Covert Warfare.

Mustang Report # 12 will be about aiding the enemy. It is titled: A President's Fantasy is a Soldier's Curse.

Hindu Prayer Now

...What will it be next?

Since when did the USA become the land of anything BUT Christianity? The attempt to make anything else has been going on for quite some time, and many of us have been completely oblivious. The deal is this: Christianity is not politically correct, and definitely not Bible-believing Christianity.

No Christian symbols or displays should be made in public. Crosses, even ones that memorialize soldiers, are ordered by judges to be taken down. The Ten Commandments must be removed from courthouses and other government buildings - whether state, federal, county or municipal. Each time a private citizen, on privately owned property erects something that can be remotely construed as Christian, it becomes a "violation of church and state".

At the same time, other religions are glorified and and given ample place and time. It really doesn't matter what the religion is, just as long as it is not Christianity. When a cross on a hillside is considered a violation of church and state, other religions can add their symbols wherever they wish, and no action is taken against them. Instead, those who cry against Christianity look the other way in order to be "tolerant".

Tomorrow, July 12, 2007, the US Senate is set to open for the first time with Hindu prayer, led by a Hindu chaplain. This is being cheered by many as being a great day in US history. Americans are finally overcoming their bigotry! Americans are becoming more open to other beliefs!

But, what can we do? Well, we could write and email our senators and let them know how much this displeases us. We could call their offices. Or, we could remain silent, like we have on every attack against Christianity in America - both subtle and blatant - for the last one hundred years.

Thomas Woods is releasing a new book today, and that is good news! While I obviously have not had a chance to read or purchase the book yet, it is already on my top list of books to get and read in the near future. Why? Well, if this book is half as good as The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History, and the host of article which Mr. Woods has written, then 33 Questions will be worth getting.

Since it will be a little difficult for me to review a book I have not even touched, let alone read yet (although that would place me on par with the so-called reviewers of big city newspapers and magazines. Where's my paycheck?), I will let Mr. Woods speak for himself.

The following is some information regarding the book that I received in an email this morning:

Case Shows How HR 2640 Threatens All Gun Owners

Pennsylvania Case Reveals How McCarthy Bill Could Threaten All Gun Owners - Troubling questions in HR 2640 still go unanswered

"For the first time [in history, HR 2640], if enacted, would statutorily impose a lifetime gun ban on battle-scarred veterans." - Military Order of the Purple Heart, June 18, 2007

ACTION:

1. Even if you have already sent an e-mail to your Senators on the McCarthy bill, please send another such as the one at the end of this alert. Yes, you might have already taken action on HR 2640. But if you (and many other gun owners like yourself) haven't taken any action recently, then NO ONE is taking action. After all, the NRA is supporting this bill, so they're not rustlin' up the troops in opposition to this massive gun control bill. Remember the immigration fight - it took weeks of continued activism to kill that bill. This fight may very well be the same.

2. Please try to get as many of your friends as you can to join with you in this effort to kill the McCarthy bill (HR 2640). Now that Senators are returning from their July 4th holiday, we need to get as many gun owners as possible to remind them that HR 2640 is unacceptable!

McCARTHY BILL COULD COME UP AT ANY TIME IN THE U.S. SENATE

Now that Congress returns to work this week, your liberties are in jeopardy once again!

You will remember that before the Independence Day break, the House of Representatives passed a McCarthy gun control bill (HR 2640) without any hearings, without any committee action... they put it on the Suspension Calendar and simply got a non-recorded voice vote.

An important part of the legislative process is to introduce a bill in committee, to get both public and private observers to ask questions, make recommendations and offer comments on the bill.

But for some reason, HR 2640 was not given this benefit. The bill was rammed through the legislature with very few Representatives present on the House floor... there was no recorded vote at all!

So it's not surprising that, having skipped much of the legislative process, there are still a lot of unanswered questions regarding HR 2640. In fact, these questions have only been magnified after an offhanded, tongue-in-cheek remark made at the Harrisburg Community College in Pennsylvania cost a man his gun rights for life in that state.

Newspapers last month reported that Horatio Miller allegedly said that it could be "worse than Virginia Tech" if someone broke into his car, because there were guns there. It is not clear whether he was making a threat against a person who might burglarize his car, or if he was simply saying that the bad guy could do a lot of damage because of the guns he would find there. Nevertheless, Miller was arrested, but not charged with anything.

The comment Miller made was certainly not the smartest thing to say. But realize, we don't incarcerate people for making stupid statements in this country -- at least not yet. Miller was a concealed carry permit holder who, as such, had passed vigorous background checks into his past history. Miller does not have a criminal record.

Regardless, the county district attorney did not like what he had said, so, according to the Harrisburg Patriot News on June 20, "I contacted the sheriff and had his license to carry a firearm revoked. And I asked police to commit him under Section 302 of the mental health procedures act and that was done. He is now ineligible to
possess firearms [for life] because he was committed involuntarily."

Get that?

Pennsylvania is operating exactly the way Rep. McCarthy's bill (HR 2640) could treat all Americans. You might be thinking, I've never had a mental illness...I'm not a military veteran...I've never been on Ritalin...hey, I have nothing to worry about under the McCarthy bill. Right?

Well, think again.

DO YOUR VIEWS ON THE SECOND AMENDMENT MAKE YOU A POTENTIAL DANGER?

The Pennsylvania case shows how all gun owners could be threatened by HR 2640. After all, did you ever tell anyone that the Second Amendment was included in the Bill of Rights because the Founders (such as James Madison) wanted the people to be able to overturn a tyrannical American government?

Or, while you were watching the nightly news - and getting a detailed account of all the crime in your area - did you ever make a statement such as, "If someone were to break through my door, I'd blow him away!"

Well, those kinds of statements will certainly make anti-gun nuts think you're a potential danger to yourself or others. So if you make the local district attorney or police officer nervous, how difficult would it be for him to get a psychiatrist (most of whom are very left-wing) to say that you are a danger to yourself and to others?

Or, would the district attorney even need to get a psychiatrist? One of the outrageous aspects of the McCarthy bill is that Section 3(2) codifies existing federal regulations. And existing federal code says it only takes a "lawful authority" to "adjudicate" someone as a mental defective.(1) And another section of the bill makes it clear this "adjudication" does not need to be made by a formal court, but can simply be a "determination" - such as a medical diagnosis.(2)

Consider how significant this is. The BATFE has been quietly attempting to amend the federal code by regulatory fiat for years, but they've been somewhat restrained in their ability to interpret these regulations because they are, after all, regulations (and not statutory law).

But with HR 2640, much of the pablum that BATFE bureaucrats have quietly added to the code over the years will now become the LAW OF THE LAND - even though those regs were never submitted to a legislative committee or scrutinized in legislative hearings or
debated on the floor of the House of Representatives.

When one looks at the federal regs cited above, there are a lot of questions that still remain unanswered. What kinds of people can fall into this category of "other lawful authority" that can deem someone to be a mental defective? Certainly, it would seem to apply to Veterans Administration shrinks. After all, the federal government already added more than 80,000 veterans with Post Traumatic Stress into the NICS system in 2000.

But who else could be classified as a "lawful authority"? A school counselor? A district attorney? What about a legislator, a city councilman or a cop? They are certainly "authorities" in their own right. Could the words "lawful authority" also apply to them?

Do we really want to risk the Second Amendment on the question of what the words "lawful authority" in 27 CFR 478.11 mean - once they have been "statutized" by HR 2640 and BATF is no longer under ANY constraint and can read it as broadly as they want?

If the "lawful authority" thinks you pose a danger to yourself or others (or can't manage your own affairs) then your gun rights could be gone.

In its open letter of May 9, 2007, BATFE makes it clear that this "danger" doesn't have to be "imminent" or "substantial," but can include "any danger" at all. How many shrinks - using the Pennsylvania standard - are going to say that a pro-gun American
like you, who believes the Second Amendment is the last defense against tyranny, DOESN'T POSE AT LEAST AN INFINITESIMAL RISK of hurting someone else?

As easy as that, your gun rights would be gone forever.

HR 2640 is Janet Reno's dream. Does somebody make a politician nervous? Get a prescription pad, get your friendly left-wing psychiatrist to make the "dangerous" diagnosis, and it's all over. Expungement will be virtually impossible. Just turn in your guns.

----- Pre-written letter -----

Dear Senator:

The Military Order of the Purple Heart got it right when it stated that for the first time in history, HR 2640 "would statutorily impose a lifetime gun ban on battle-scarred veterans."

The Military Order of the Purple Heart, which is chartered by Congress, is urging the DEFEAT of HR 2640, the Brady-expansion legislation introduced by anti-gun Rep. Carolyn McCarthy.

Despite what you may have heard elsewhere, this bill THREATENS gun owners' rights and represents one of the biggest gun bans in history.

A recent case in Pennsylvania shows how easily a gun owner can be slapped with a LIFETIME gun ban, without any due process, based solely on a mere accusation by a shrink or other "lawful authority." For more information on this - and for a point-by-point analysis of HR 2640 - please go to http://www.gunowners.org on the website of Gun Owners of America.

All the background checks in the world will NOT stop bad guys from getting firearms. Severe restrictions in Washington, DC, England, Canada, Germany and other places have not stopped evil people from using guns to commit murder.

Again, I hope you will OPPOSE the McCarthy bill (HR 2640). Thank you.

Sincerely,

An Attack or A Boost?

Today, WorldNetDaily, the "conservative" news website (well, they are better than the ultra-Neo-Con NewsMax, but are quite neo-Con as well) featured a couple of articles on Ron Paul. Considering Dr. Paul opposes nearly everything that WND stands for, it is probably a safe bet that today's articles were meant to slander the good doctor. However, as is often the case, I think the articles will only help to generate good attention to Ron Paul's campaign, and help more Americans learn about the only candidate that seeks to preserve America and her Liberty.

The second link is the actual interview Dr. Paul had with WND. There he discusses, The US hindering Israel from doing their job, abortion, the NAU, the borders, and what he would do as president.

"WND: In general terms, what role do you believe Israel plays in the Middle East? Is it generally a positive role, or generally a negative role?

Ron Paul: I don't know whether you should pick either one. I think they provide a balance of power there. I think unfortunately we get in their way, because they depend on us for money. They also depend on us for permission."

Not so well known is the fact that supporters of the NAU concept slipped an initiative into the recently defeated immigration reform act. Largely unnoticed amidst the amnesty furor that ultimately sunk the Immigration Bill was the statement, "It is the sense of Congress that the United States and Mexico should accelerate the implementation of the Partnership for Prosperity to help generate economic growth and improve the standard of living in Mexico."
