Apparently, Ms. McCarthy has chosen to resubmit her gun-grab plan, and re-invent it. So far I have not heard anything from Gun Owners of America or any other gun rights group. The only place I have heard anything about this is from my good friend William Potter of Alabama.
I urge you to write to your senators and representatives in the US Congress about this as soon as possible. Sure, you may have written to them about the old bill, but that doesn't count to politicians. Write to them about this one as well.

MUSTANG REPORT # 1
Over the next few days I will be posting the Mustang Reports, a series written by Lt. Col Daniel Marvin, US Army (Ret.). Lt. Col Marvin is a real American hero, who spent much of his life in the military. The topics he discusses are worthy of our attention. This man knows what he is talking about.
Editor/RP
What follows is a series of MUSTANG REPORTS. All are based on personal experience and/or direct knowledge of the truth.
INTRODUCTION: This the first in a series of articles I have written as a retired US Army Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel. I started my career as a recruit, achieved the NCO rank of Sergeant First Class and was commissioned and retired in 1973 as a Lieutenant Colonel. This entire series will be devoted to informing the American people, indeed the world, of some of what I personally experienced during his 21 years of active service and ensuing years as I fought to bring to the attention of all Americans the real facts of what evil exists in our government. What needs to be done to cease and desist the multitude of heinous practices developed by secret organizations within our government including the CIA and Special Operations of DOD, the majority of which were accomplished by men like me and the mafia, such as to do whatever was necessary to "silence" fellow Americans, to assassinate foreigners - even heads of state, to conduct terrorism and perpetrate sabotage. My book Expendable Elite - One Soldier's Journey Into Covert Warfare stood the test of a Federal Court juried trial in January of 2006! It is the hard truth of what truly went on in South Vietnam as personally experienced by me.
My Victory edition was published just six months after the jury found me and my publisher, Kris Millegan not guilty of publishing lies in my book. Signed copies of this new edition are available and each includes the entirety of the first edition plus a preface by a world renowned expert on CIA Assassination programs - Douglas Valentine - a Publisher's Foreword and more than 100 pages of new material that tells the reader about the lawsuit, the trial and the aftermath. It can be ordered at a cost of $19.95 plus postage by calling the publisher at 1-800-556-2012 or by going to his website at www.ExpendableElite.com.
Should we send them into battle . . . While Their Leaders Aid the Enemy or declare them EXPENDABLE?
By
Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Marvin
United States Army Special Forces (Retired)
Our Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan are fighting an enemy difficult to distinguish from those who we are told we went there to help. It is the men and women of our armed forces who are on the ground who bear the brunt of the battle and sustain casualties as the enemy employs heinous methods of terror and death tactics with no regard for the innocent, most of whom we are there to protect. They wage a fanatic war of a suicidal nature with IEDs and hit and run tactics designed to wreck havoc on the civilian population, while our soldiers and marines are denied the freedom to wage a war to win, forbidden to use those tactics necessary to destroy the enemy, and apparently not charged with locating and destroying his bases or his source of bombs, bullets and IEDs... My grandson Michael returned from duty in Iraq and I thank God he is back and all in one piece. Another grandson is there now with the 82nd Airborne Division and I pray daily for his safe return.
We have allowed the enemy to use mosques as shelters and weapons storage caches while we were and perhaps yet are forbidden to destroy them. Is this policy just another way of aiding the enemy and extending the war as was the case when the Communist North Vietnamese and Viet Cong were permitted safe havens in Cambodia? Is it more important to maintain a continuing conflict, regardless of cost of people and resources to satisfy our industrial/political machine?
Every American ought to read on to comprehend the heinous nature of certain political dictates that sacrificed our fighting men and their allies in South Vietnam while granting their enemy sanctuaries and permitted them to be resupplied over a shipping route that we protected. This is fact corroborated by one of those who did aid the enemy - the late General William C. Westmoreland. In his book A Soldier Reports he tells the facts relating to what he did to aid the enemy. If you read my book - The Victory Edition to Expendable Elite - One Soldier's Journey Into Covert Warfare you will then be mentally equipped to understand why we lost the Vietnam Conflict and why we must be alert and aware so as not to risk a similar, costly defeat as we face the suicidal followers of Islam, intent on destroying non-Muslim governments and their forces. Remember first and foremost that it is those who carry the battle to the enemy on the ground - The Combat Infantrymen -who suffer the most in battle and who must take the ground if the victory is to be won. We must no longer aid the enemy.
There are many displays and tributes to this deceased general. Instead, and please follow me before you object to my telling you: General Westmoreland should have been made to appear before a general court martial for knowingly aiding the enemy in that war that took the lives of 58,000 of our men and close to a million Vietnamese. Yes, I said knowingly aided our enemy in Vietnam. If we ignore the facts of Vietnam and if we refuse to acknowledge that our forces and allied forces were killed by that enemy whom he permitted safe haven to, we will fall prey to those who would again give comfort to the enemy in other wars.
Who is calling the shots in Iraq and Afghanistan? Are the generals and admirals of today, at the expense of KIAs, WIAs and MIAs bending to the dictates of a circle of men dedicated to maintaining a conflict of sufficient depth and length to satisfy the monetary lusts of industry and political power brokers?
On 24 July 2003, I spoke on the telephone with General Tommy Franks at his Florida headquarters to let him know we were having a "Support the Troops Rally" in Cazenovia, New York. This pleased the General who then, because he had to go to a meeting, turned me over to his aide, LTC Chris Goedeke. I expressed our admiration here in this upstate New York Village for the General and also told of my personal concern that he did not appear to have sufficient troops in his command in Iraq to secure the population centers after they had taken the area and cleared the enemy out. I was led to believe, when told unequivocally that General Franks had only received half of the numbers of forces he had asked for to properly conduct the war, that he had yielded to the desires and dictates of the Secretary of Defense. Had he knowingly ordered our forces into harm's way with insufficient men and women to realistically get the job done? I believe that to be true. One who wishes to remain anonymous advised me that the Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld's staff that developed the invasion plans for Iraq was primarily comprised of personnel without any combat experience.
My question to those who love this great nation of ours and support the troops:
Why has the world press refused to publish the truth?
General William C. Westmoreland, as Commander of all American Forces in South Vietnam from June of 1964 through March of 1968, aided the enemy by permitting them safe havens inside the Cambodian territory and permitting that same enemy the unrestricted use of the Mekong River to transport war materiel through South Vietnam to resupply their sanctuaries in Cambodia. It seemed obvious to me, after putting all of the facts together, that General Westmoreland considered his own position, rank and place in history more important to him than the lives of American and allied military personnel, particularly the combat infantrymen, and South Vietnamese civilians. He should have demanded an end to President Lyndon Johnson’s provision of safe-havens and protected supply routes to the enemy. Lacking positive action by the President, General Westmoreland should then have resigned publicly. He could have then honestly informed the American people that he was leaving the service not wanting to be a part of the sham that was Vietnam.
General Westmoreland knowingly supported the enemy by enforcing the provision of safe havens and protecting shipping routes for enemy war supplies while subjecting our forces to death and injury. My four best friends are listed as KIA on The Wall – all combat infantrymen. Perhaps if they had been given the opportunity to fight on a level field of battle, they and tens of thousands of others would yet be alive and the nation of South Vietnam would yet exist today. Corroborated proof of my direct knowledge of General Westmoreland’s acts to encourage and assist the enemy is contained in my book Expendable Elite – One Soldier’s Journey Into Covert Warfare.
On page 218 of General Westmoreland’s nonfiction book A Soldier Reports © 1976, Doubleday & Company, Inc. he states rather matter-of-factly and very clearly that "the enemy’s obvious use of Cambodia as a sanctuary and refusal of Washington authorities to allow me to do anything about it was frustrating." He went on to write of the proof of major shipments of arms and other supplies "reaching the VC via international shipping passing through South Vietnam up the Mekong..." It may have been “frustrating” to General Westmoreland, but his lack of action to deny the enemy sanctuaries and a protected supply route was indeed deadly to many tens of thousands of fighting men who depended on him for leadership. From what I was told by officers in Saigon in 1966, General Westmoreland couldn't have been too frustrated or he would have denied himself the playful pleasures of a daily tennis routine.
Strangely enough, on pager 261 of that same book that he wrote, General Westmoreland tells of a quotation of Napoleon Bonaparte that was "under a panel on [his] desk."
The quote: "A commander-in-chief cannot take as an excuse for his mistakes in warfare an order by his sovereign or his minister, when the person giving the order is absent from the field of operations and is imperfectly aware or wholly unaware of the latest state of affairs. It follows that any commander-in-chief who undertakes to carry out a plan which he considers defective is at fault; he must put forward his reasons, insist on the plan being changed, and finally tender his resignation rather than be the instrument of his army’s downfall."
Why then, I wonder, did he not resign and go public asking the American people to demand we be allowed to win that war?
The lack of strong moral leadership in this four star general is typified by his own admission in his book on page 220 "For long all we could do to the enemy in Cambodia was drop propaganda leaflets on our side of the border whenever the wind was right to blow them across." And, he states unequivocally, "My every request to inform the world press of the enemy’s use of Cambodia was denied..." I question his having permitted the “enemy’s use of Cambodia,” and liken it to "tying our soldiers’ hands behind their backs" as they were ordered into battle. Why didn't Westmoreland take that matter forward as the sole rationale for his action and resign from the military service?
In 1983, Presidio Press published LTC Charles M. Simpson’s book, Inside the Green Berets. Included in this book is the account of how LTC Dick Ruble, a member of General Westmoreland’s Intelligence staff, denied the Special Forces Group commander access to intelligence (“code word” documents) as retribution for Special Forces’ denying MACV non-airborne personnel access to Special Forces Camps (see page 181). The Special Forces Group had been excluded purposely from their distribution list and would include intelligence gathered by CIA resources. Many of those resources were highly classified and compartmentalized, according to my source, who understandably wishes to remain anonymous.
Directly related to this denial of critical combat intelligence, was a time of solemn remembrance one summer afternoon in 1988 when I stepped through the doors of the Special Warfare Museum on Smoke Bomb Hill at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, wanting to revisit my past. The Green Berets were, after all, a very special organization that would and could tackle any mission, anytime, anywhere and get the job done. No task was too dangerous or too difficult: “The impossible just takes a little longer” was an expression we used often as we approached the truth of surviving combat that is the way of life for a combat infantryman. I was enjoying the many and varied exhibits in that small, but awesome collection of unconventional warfare memorabilia until I was stopped in my tracks in front of an exhibit honoring none other than General Westmoreland. I understand fully that one soldier should not despise another, but that singular word best describes my feeling for that one military man who aided and abetted the enemy in the Vietnam conflict, the same enemy that had killed my four best friends. All of them were Green Berets and had earned the CIB.
There is a special story about my best friend, Special Forces Master Sergeant Gerard V. Parmentier. His name is now engraved on the WALL, having been killed in action his fifth time in combat in the SE Asian War Theater. Jerry, a combat infantryman, along with a number of their South Vietnamese irregulars were KIA in a pitched battle with Viet Cong insurgents on 17 August 1967 near Dak To, South Vietnam. Worst of all, perhaps, is the fact that they were also unsuspecting victims of a power struggle between General William C. Westmoreland’s headquarters and the Special Forces Group commander.
Jerry's son Albert, a Green Beret himself, was serving in a neighboring Special Forces camp when he got word that his father had been killed. After learning details of the battle and its aftermath from his father’s commanding officer, Albert accompanied his Father’s body back to the United States where he was interred with military honors, including a Special Forces Color Guard, at Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego where he could "watch the ships go back and forth" - his personal request to me and his wife Rose before he left for that final combat tour.
After the funeral I spoke with Albert and he confirmed what I’d suspected regarding the cause of Jerry's death. He had been told by his father's commanding officer that Jerry’s unit had met defeat and suffered heavy casualties, with most KIAs due to withheld intelligence. The enemy force that killed Jerry was many times the strength that had been gleaned from available intelligence. That fact, in and of itself, was not uncommon in war, particularly in a counter-insurgency situation. What was unusual and unforgivable in this instance, in my judgment, was the fact that the enemy's strength was known to General Westmoreland’s staff but purposely withheld from the Special Forces. Hard to believe? Yes, and I would rather it had been a lie. But those facts were told Albert by Jerry’s "A Team" commander before he left Vietnam to escort his father’s body to the US. Albert told me that he would go into more detail for the book I was writing about Special Forces in South Vietnam, but would wait until his mother died as it would hurt too much for her to know the truth. Shortly after Jerry’s widow Rose passed away and after she was buried in Providence, Rhode Island, I spoke with Albert and told him of my need to obtain his signed statement telling of the facts of his father’s death for evidence which I would then use to demand an investigation and a public disclosure of facts. He refused, telling me that after he'd retired from the U.S. Army he went to work for the “company” (the CIA) and was then conveniently forbidden from disclosing any knowledge relating to CIA activities which would necessarily include their part in his father's death. No sense arguing, the cards were stacked against the truth.
My book, Expendable Elite – One Soldier’s Journey Into Covert Warfare, contains much detail regarding General Westmoreland’s refusal to demand an end to the enemy’s safe-havens in Cambodia and his lack of courage. He was given the opportunity to go before Congress and tell them that American and Allied forces and innocent civilians were being killed and maimed by the enemy operating out of the “sanctuaries” that President Johnson had provided against the wishes of then South Vietnamese Premier Nguyen Cao Ky. He admits to these failures in his book A Soldier Reports.
Another fact of life in South Vietnam at the time I served as a Green Beret in An Phu and Chau Doc was the lack of routine resupply of Special Forces units in the delta area by General Westmoreland’s Army depot in Saigon. This was a great cause of concern to me when I moved to Team B-42 in Chau Doc City and assumed responsibility for logistical support of Special Forces in the C-4 region of IV Corps Tactical Zone. In fact we ended up borrowing an LCU, going down river from Chau Doc to the Saigon Depot where we borrowed two of the depot’s 2½ ton trucks and drove past fearful guards to pick from the depots stock what we desperately needed. We loaded sand bags, small generators, pallets of ammunition and other miscellaneous “stuff” on their trucks and then onto the LCU and traversed the Mekong and Bassac Rivers back to Chau Doc, unloaded at the B Team dock and returned the LCU to where it was originally moored. Could this be corroborated? Yes - Within a year of my return to the United States I was attending the US Army Quartermaster Career Course at Fort Lee, Virginia. Colonel Pieklik, the commander of the Saigon Depot at the time we were forced to steal those supplies, was the Career Course's final guest speaker. He stood in front of our class and opened the floor to questions at the end of his prepared presentation. I, as class president, fielded the first question: Why had he shut off the supplying of our Green Beret camps in IV Tactical Zone in1966? I was impressed with the fact that he answered unequivocally, telling our class that the reason his depot was not supplying the Special Forces needs in the IV Tactical Zone (the entire delta area) was that General Westmoreland had personally ordered him not to. He explained how Westmoreland’s futile attempts to convince the Commanding General of IV Tactical Zone (Lieutenant General Quang Van Dang) of the need to permit the use of conventional American forces in the delta had angered him to the extent that he denied logistical support of all unconventional forces in the Delta area.
Is this the General Westmoreland you have pictured in the past? Interestingly enough, General Westmoreland’s personal Analysis of America’s Unique Experience in Vietnam, titled As I Saw it and Now See It © 1988 (Go to http://members.aol.com/USAHeroes/wcw2.htm) contains NO reference to the safe havens or protected shipping he permitted our enemy during his watch. Most likely he regretted admitting his sin in his first book. I'm glad he did!
Interestingly enough, this past January the Special Forces Association brought together members of my "A Team" and the "C Team" Commander as plaintiffs, selected three attorneys (including Booby Deaver, Esq. who had incorporated the Special Forces Association - SFA) and offered to pay all of the expenses for plaintiffs who sued me and publisher Kris Millegan of TrineDay Press in the Federal Court in Charleston, South Carolina for $700,000.00. This was a vain attempt to silence the truth of what is written in my book Expendable Elite – One Soldier’s Journey Into Covert Warfare. The five day trial resulted in a unanimous verdict that cleared Kris and me by an eight person jury who deliberated for less than two hours and that time included a lunch break. Interestingly enough, the plaintifff's expenses were paid but the SFA's financial statement for the period 1 Jan thru 31 Mar 06 shows NO monies paid that in any way can be associated with plaintiff's expenses. Who do you suppose paid those expenses.. I would hazard a guess that secret funds from the "Company" paid the bills.
With exception of a few copies on the shelves of book stores, the first edition of my book, Expendable Elite - One Soldier's Journey Into Covert Warfare has been sold out. A second edition, appropriately titled the Victory Edition - Expendable Elite - One Soldier's Journey Into Covert Warfare was published in July 2006 with a dynamic Foreword written by Douglas Valentine, author of The Phoenix Program (a world renowned expert on CIA assassination programs). Two additional Epilogues dealing with the lawsuit and the trial (more than 100 added pages!) that followed are included in this second edition. You may purchase a copy of this new paperback edition for $19.95 plus postage by calling the publisher, Trine Day, at 800-556-2012. Those who want a signed copy of this new edition need only tell the publisher and he will tell me to send the signed book from my office.
It is up to all Americans who enjoy the freedom that our armed forces risk their lives to assure us - to demand that our political and military leadership permit our men and women a level battlefield and cease from aiding or abetting the enemy.

What follows is a series of MUSTANG REPORTS. All are based on personal experience and/or direct knowledge of the truth.
MUSTANG REPORT # 1
Our Men and Women at War .... A Need to Re-Visit the Past
General William C. Westmoreland
The Man and the Myth
The Man and the Myth

Thoughts on HR 254
It amazes me how people have to attack anything that disturbs their mind-set. For those who read my postings, and everything I write just enrages you, let me give you a tip that will save you a trip to the hospital in coronary care: if you don't like what I write, then don't read it. If I bother you, then don't visit here anymore. it's a rather simple concept, and one which I abide by myself. There are scores of websites which I never visit, scores of writers whose works and articles I do not read because I disagree vehemently with their teachings, philosophies, etc. I do not write hate-filled diatribes to them. I simply never read their work, and never visit their sites.
Today, I received a nice little comment here regarding the post on HR 254. The author did not bother to give his name, he would rather remain "Anonymous", yet he was adamant that I am wrong. Here is what I received:
"Have you ACTUALLY read H.R. 254?
I doubt it 'cause if you had you would of seen:
"willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, or an explosive device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability of any person"
Key word: bodily injury
Nothing about speech, nothing about anything the AFA is quoting.
So please, stop it with the alarmist blog posts. Thank You."
Anonymous
For one: if you are going to attempt to correct me, and here is the teacher coming out in me, please do so in somewhat decent grammar. That is a pet peeve of mine. Yes, I use bad grammar in day-to-day speech, but when I am attempting to help someone leave their "heresy", I do my best to use correct grammar. I would hate to read this fellow's term paper.
Secondly, I have read HR 254. After all, I would have been stupid to post a link to the bill, had I not at least read it. But, then, maybe Anonymous thinks I am stupid. Who knows?
Thirdly, HR 254 is carefully worded in order to ensure that only "alarmists", such as myself, will notice the true intent of this law: to curb the freedom of speech to Christians. A friend of mine put it this way: "The bill uses clever phraseology to "convert" the reader (deceive the very elect) and keep their real agenda 'behind the curtain'."
The problem with HR 254 is that it will not be interpreted as it is written, judges will decree more and more stringent interpretations based upon this law. It will also allow for future revisions that will completely erode the Christian's right to decry sin.
As for Anonymous' request that I stop making "alarmist" posts...sorry, I will not, nor cannot. I am a watchman upon the wall, warning of the coming danger that is on the horizon should things continue in this downward spiral. I am doing the job that others fail to do, refuse to do, or cannot see to do. If I do not cry out against dangerous bills such as this, then I will have much to answer for when I stand before my God.

REVIEW: Blood Money: The Civil War and the Federal Reserve

Blood Money
By John Remington Graham
Pelican Publishing
Of all the books on the War Between the States and/or its many causes, this was the first one I have ever read or heard of that connected the WBTS to the creation of the Federal Reserve. And of all the books I have read on the creation of the Federal Reserve, this was the first one that connected its creation to the WBTS. Sounds improbable, not really. Mr. Graham does a very good job of explaining how the whole purpose of creating an internal war and subsequently invading the South was to creation a permanent national bank that would control the US currency and economy.
Mr. Graham did not base his "claims" upon non-existent information, but rather has put forward fact and sources clearly indication the intentions of the powerhouse bankers of the North, and their European cohorts. He backs everything up with sources from before, during and after the WBTS.
To make Blood Money even better, it is very readable, and is quite short. Mr. Graham does not spend a lot of time "beating around the bush". He gets right to the point, and lays it out in a simple, easy-to-understand format, which made Blood Money a pleasure to read.
Blood Money is available from booksellers nationwide, including Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and Amazon.com.

It's good for you, America!

Is this brainwashing? Obviously, it is meant to get folks used to the idea of the "NAFTA Superhighway" that is to be built. Yes, I know. The billboard calls the monstrosity the "Trans Texas Corridor", but it's purpose is the allow the easy transfer of goods to the US from Mexico and Central America via Texas.
Well, regardless, it must be good, right? Why else would they place a picture of such a happy Cowboy on it? Everybody loves and can trust a good cowboy.

MUSIC REVIEW: Set Apart: On the Right Track

My wife and I both love Bluegrass, especially Bluegrass Gospel. To us, the music and harmonies are more natural, and pleasing to hear. Being Southerners, it is always nice to hear people talk like you do, and Bluegrass does have that distinctive Southern accent and flare. As a DJ at a Christian radio station, I hear a lot of music. Sadly, most of it is not worth the time it takes to listen to it, and it will not get played over the airwaves where I work, and should not be. Every now and then, a group of dedicated folks comes along, and not only has a good sound, but also a good message.
One such group that has caught my attention in the last year is Set Apart. Set Apart is a Bluegrass Gospel group made up of some talented young men. They are dedicated, Bible-believing Christians, who truly seek to serve the Lord, and to be a blessing to fellow Christians.
Their sound is superb. Strong vocals, good mountain harmony, and accomplished instrumentals - the key ingredients to a good Bluegrass group. Some of the songs they sing and play will be familiar to you. Primitive Quartet fans will recognize some of their numbers, but there are also a number of Set Apart originals - songs written by group members Roland Kesterson, Nathan Horton and Bryan Simmons.
One of the best songs on the CD On the Right Track is one written by Nathan Horton entitled "God's Love Is True". It's a unique retelling of the story of the Prodigal Son through the love of the Father and how it is unwavering.
You can read more about Set Apart and order their music by going to SetApartMusic.net.
