I will not be making any more postings until after Christmas, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my readers, and those who stray by, a "Merry Christmas"! I hope you remember the reason we take this time to celebrate, and remember to thank God for His Wonderful Gift.
We do not have to get caught up in the glitter and gifts. We can put the focus on its proper place, or I should say, Person. Let's make sure Christ receives the honor and the glory, and join the Heavenly Host in singing "Glory to God in the Highest! And on earth, peace, good will toward men!"
On another note, 147 years ago today South Carolina did the unthinkable. The Palmetto State decided she had had enough of the so-called Union of States, and moved to dissolve that Union. Thus, today should be a holiday, and is known to some as Secession Day.
South Carolina was soon followed by other states in January, but spent nearly a month standing alone. While many have debated that this was an example of South Carolinians sun-baked brains, South Carolinians still know that it was an example of their stubborn spirit of independence - a spirit that big government types never have and never will put up with.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
